The sales-cum-exhibition event SARAS currently organized jointly by the central and state governments in the Royappettah has become hugely popular among the women.
The Department of Rural Development of the Central Government has been organizing the sales-cum-exhibition event known as SARAS, jointly with the various state governments, facilitating the rural handicraft craftsman to display and sell their wares since the year 2000.
This year, this Central government department has joined with the Tamil Nadu State Women’s Development corporation and is conducting SARAS, the sales-cum-exhibition event.
In this fair, the various women’s self-help groups from various states including Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra, and Kerala have joined together and set up 150 stalls in the sales-cum-exhibition.
Various handicraft items, handloom clothes, items made from jute and paper, household items, decorative items, statues made from wood, beauty cosmetic items, herbal food items, and pottery items are being sold in this fair.
The exhibition lasts until 21st March. The visitors allowed from 10.00 AM to 9.00 PM.
