The state-run telecom provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited will tie up with local cable network operators in Telangana for providing broadband services.

BSNL has already tied up with a few local cable operators in Warangal. We will also tie up with a number of other private table operators in Karimnagar within May 2017, said General Manager of BSNL AP Circle, L. Anantharaman.

Apart from infrastructure facilities to the cable operators, BSNL will also give out cable and maintenance. They will provide cable television services and BSNL will provide landline, broadband and voice calls to the customers.

In three exchanges at Karimnagar town, the presently used technology exchange will be replaced with Next Generation Network exchange of 4000 lines. Hence, it will allow IP Centrex, video calling, and group video conferencing to all the landline subscribers.

In Karimnagar, at select 20 hotspots, Wi-Fi will be launched within 15th March. Total of 96,650 new customers are added into BSNL prepaid services. This is likely to increase to one lakh by month end.
