As per the Food Safety Act, it has been confirmed that the public must get only safe food items.
The food traders must follow all the food safety rules and supply safe and good quality food items to the public Stringent legal action will be taken on those who violate this.
Illegal aspects on food sales
- Banned food adulteration items - Calcium carbide stones, fruits and vegetables treated with chemicals, and tea leaves with artificial colours
- Hotels and tea stalls using plastic bags for food parcels, recycling of oil once used, usage of water cans without ISI mark, ghee items without Agmark, and sales of food items kept in open condition.
