The Director of the Department of Public Health, Dr. Kulandai samy informed that Measles-Rubella vaccination for the 12 Lakh children who were left out in the previous camps will be administered in 4 days.
He further explained that the Measles-Rubella Vaccination camps have come to a close in Tamil Nadu. The children who were left out will be administered rubella vaccination till 31st March.
So far, the vaccination has been administered for 1.64 Crores infants and children.
The balance 12 Lakh children/infants who were left out in the previous camps would be administered with Measles-Rubella vaccination in the next 4 days. After this is completed, the measles vaccination in the National Vaccination Scheme would be removed and replaced with Measles-Rubella vaccination.
The Measles-Rubella vaccination will be administered by categorising the children/infants in 2 groups - 9 months to 12 months old infants and 16 months to 24 months old children.
