As maintenance activities are to be undertaken in the Nemmeli desalination plant, the MWSSB (Metro Water Supply and Sewage Board) has announced that the distribution of water supply to certain areas like Thiruvanmiyur, Velachery, and Taramani would be disturbed for 2 days on 31st March and 1st April.
The desalination plant in Nemmeli has the capacity to purify 100 million litres of sea water. Maintenance works are scheduled to be undertaken here. So, drinking water supply to certain areas including Adyar, Besant Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, a part of Velachery, a part of Taramani, Kottivakkam, Palavakkam, Perungudi, ECR, Neelankarai, Injambakkam, OMR, (Okkiyam, Thuraippakkam, Karappakkam, Sholinganallur, and Semmancherry) will be cut off from 6.00 Am on 31st March to 6.00 AM on 1st April.
Hence, the public is requested to store sufficient quantity of drinking water.
