The Tamil Nadu State Government has been successfully implementing the integrate network information system where all particulars of the criminal when FIR is made online on the computer system. So, if any person gets imprisoned, the information will be immediately sent as SMS to the person’s immediate relatives or near relations.
The Director of the Government Department of Criminal Cases, S. Shanmugan, explained that the main objective of this scheme is to link the Justice department, the Police department, and the Forensic department. Once the link is established, it will become impossible change the FIR in the police station. Once FIR is filed and entered in the computer, it will not be possible to change data without approval from the higher authorities.
Notably, if any person gets imprisoned, the information will be immediately sent as SMS to the nearest relatives of that person to the cell phone. The details of the crime number and the person being jailed will be given in the SMS.
All the police stations have already been electronically integrated through the CCTNS Scheme (The Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems). In the next phase, this link will be extended to include all courts, prisons, and other related departments.
The implementation of this integrated system will facilitate to capture all details about a criminal or the details of the crime online from any nook and corner of the country.
The scheme will also facilitate to get online details pertaining to various departments such as FIR, the crime paper, court blockade, police report, medical report, and accident report. This will certainly help in the faster delivery of justice.
