IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) has introduced the new facility - home delivery of train tickets booked online.

Indian Railway has been introducing attractive schemes and facilities in a target to get more passengers on its services. IRCTC has taken the responsibility to implement some of the schemes.

Earlier, the facility to book train tickets online was introduced by IRCTC. The facility to pay the fare online was also possible.

As the online booking details are exchanged through SMS or e-mail between IRCTC and the passenger, paperwork has come down considerably.

To extend the benefit of train booking, IRCTC is set to introduce a new facility - the passenger who books train ticket online without possessing any debit or credit card can get the tickets on home delivery arrangement when cash can be paid after the ticket delivery. This facility has been introduced in 60 cities by IRCTC.

The passengers who wish to avail this facility will need to have Aadhar card and PAN card. While booking online, select COD (Cash on Delivery) while choosing the mode of payment.

This facility can be availed while booking trains 5 days before the intended travel date. If cancelling the tickets booked online, the refund amount will be deposited in the bank savings account - the bank account details are also to be furnished while booking the train ticket online.
