Apply online from 1st May to join in courses on fisheries

The Vice-chancellor-in-charge of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries University has informed that applications can be send online from 1st May to join courses on fisheries.

Under the Tamil Nadu Fisheries University, there are 50 seats for the B.F.Sc course in the Tuticorin Fisheries College and there are 60 seats in the Thiruvallur Ponneri Fisheries College.

There are 20 seats for the B.E (Fisheries Engineering) in the Nagapattinam Fisheries Engineering College.

+2 students who had studied biology,zoology,Botany, Chemistry and Physics are eligible to join the above courses. However, for B.E Fisheries Engineering, +2 students should have studied Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

The admission is on the basis of marks obtained in +2 examinations. There are no entrance examinations.

A variety of scholarships are available for the students joining Fisheries Courses – Government scholarship, 1st graduate in the family scholarship, Fisheries University scholarship, The Chief Minister’s Award for the best SC student, etc. The scholarship offered by the Indian Agricultural Research Council is also available.

The students interested in joining the above courses in the academic year 2017-18 can apply online from 10th May to 10th June: www.tnfu.ac.in

The application fee is Rs. 600 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST candidates). This payment can be made online.

There are no printed application forms. Applications can only be made online. The counselling for selection of college will be conducted during the 1st week of July.

The announcement regarding admission will be released on the university website on 10th May.
