There has been a gradual increase in the digital financial transactions, especially after the demonetization.
With the UPI technology introduced by the central government, several Apps, including BHIM, are used in digital transactions.
Generally, for digital financial transactions, internet, and details of credit/debit cards are required.
In this scenario, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the App facility for digital transaction known as BHIM-Aadhar today, 14th April, being a special day with the 126th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar. This App facility is simple to use even by the poorer section of the society.
With this facility, payments can be made from the bank savings account with the help of the biometric details such as fingerprints. In the 1st phase of this facility, 27 banks will accept sending and receiving money through this system.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Double Bonus Scheme for digital financial transactions. He informed that each time BHIM-Aadhar App is used for digital transaction, cashback and bonus would be available.
The PM explained that BHIM-Aadhar can be used not only to spend money but also to make it. If a person refer another to start using BHIM-Aadhar, Rs. 10 will be credited to his account.
