Chennai Meteorological Centre warning: Hot breeze may blow today

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned that there are prospects of the hot breeze blowing across today (Tuesday, 18th April).

Following this warning, the Tamil Nadu Disaster Management Authority has asked the collectors of the 18 districts, including including Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Salem, Erode, Karur, Trichy and Perambalur, to take all precautionary actions.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned about the hot breeze blow. It explained that with the cyclone Marudha crossing over beyond the Myanmar coast, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

A temperature of 102.2 Degrees Fahrenheit was recorded in Chennai yesterday (Monday, 17th April) and hot winds may blow across for the next 2 days in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. The intensity of heat will be much more than the average.

Following this warning, the Director if the Tamil Nadu Disaster Management Authority has instructed the collectors of the 18 districts to take all precautionary measures.

The director has instructed the district collectors to warn/advise the public not to venture outside between 12.00 Noon to 3.00 PM.
