The public is now allowed to visit the Raj Bhavan, Guindy, Chennai (Governor’s residence). For this, a registration has to be made on the internet.
This special facility will be inaugurated by the Governor (in-charge) of Tamil Nadu Mr. Vidyasagar Rao on 19th April.
Until now, there was no practice to allow the public to enter the Raj Bhavan.
Only when special functions such as university convocations or award distribution, etc., are organised in Raj Bhavan, only invitees will be allowed to enter the Rah Bhavan after thorough checking.
There a goof lot of deer varieties inside the Raj Bhavan – spotted deer and blackbucks can be seen in good numbers. These can be seen moving around the Raj Bhavan roads and other areas inside.
There are a good variety of trees and a beautiful garden. There is a beautiful auditorium called Darbar Hall inside the Raj Bhavan.
So, the opportunity is now open for the public to see these things and enjoy.
The facility for the online registration for permission to visit Raj Bhavan will be inaugurated in the Anna University Complex on Wednesday, 19th April. Tamil Nadu Governor will inaugurate.
The visitors can be a single person or a team – they have to register online to get the permission. It is understood that there will be minimal charges for this.
In this regard, the state government residences in the states of Maharashtra and Odisha are already open to the public for sight-seeing visits.
