For the first time in a trend, jewellery items with different colours are set to be introduced on the occasion of Akshaya Trithiyai for attracting the prospective buyers.
It has been a traditional and strong belief among the Hindus that buying gold on the auspicious day of Akshaya Trithiyai will bring prosperity and good luck to the family.
This year, the occasion of Akshaya Trithiyai falls on 28th and 29th April. As a special preparation for this occasion, the manufacture of traditional and the latest types of pieces of jewellery has been in full swing over the last month.
The general secretary of the Chennai Gold and Diamond jewellery traders association explained that generally, all jewellery are in golden colour. However, the taste of the public also seems to have changed – they have a liking for coloured jewellery. So, this year, for the first time, jewellery items including chains and rings in green, white, pink, and red in more than 500 designs are being manufactured for sales.
As the weight and price of these items are less, it will especially attract the teenage group girls.
