Government employees on an indefinite strike from today

The state government employees of Tamil Nadu will be on an indefinite strike from today (Tuesday, 25th April) insisting response/immediate action on their 6-point demands include,
- Re-implement the old pension scheme
- Pay an interim relief till the new wage revision becomes effective.
- Fill up the vacancies on the term contract basis.
Over 4 Lakhs state government employees different unions working in the department of commercial tax, rural development department, etc. are participating in this strike. Naturally, the government work will be severely affected.
