The increase in crowd level had started right from the evening yesterday (Friday, 28th April) of the people who intend to buy gold and jewellery one day before the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya as per the traditional belief that buying gold on this day will bring prosperity and wealth for the rest of the year.
The jewellery traders observed that they expect even larger crowds today on the occasion of this festival.
As Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated for 2 days, all the jewellery shops have kept the offers open for 2 days.
In order to attract the prospective customers, the major and popular jewellery shops in the urban areas like T.Nagar, Purasaiwalkam, Adyar, Mylapore, Chromepet, and Tambaram have decked up their shops adorned with flowers and light apart from numerous attractive offers.
It could be seen that there more crowds than usual right from yesterday evening in most jewellery shops, even 1 day before the auspicious occasion.
The jewellery traders optimistically expect that the crowd levels will be even more today being the occasion of the Akshaya Tritiya festival.
