The mobile use mania has reached unprecedented heights that the people tend to keep touching and holding their pockets unconsciously even when they bend down a little. When there is a light drizzle, the people rush to the nearest corner and stand.
Even after all this special attention, it really happens sometimes when the cell phone falls in the water. So, it is very much worth the while to know what to do and what not to do if at all the mobile phone falls in the water.
· First, take out the cell from the water. Immediately, switch t off. (If it is on, there are possibilities of short-circuiting because of the water inside. It is another point that most of the time the cell goes off automatically when falling in the water.
· Water sticker is pasted over the cell phone in many famous brands including Samsung. This can be located generally at the end of the battery or below that and this sticker is white in colour. When exposed to water, this sticker turns red. You can confirm whether water has entered inside the cell phone by checking this colour change.
· Once you have switched the cell off, remove the parts like the mobile cover, battery, SIM, and the memory card. Dry the parts with a clean cotton cloth.
· SIM cards are generally designed to be waterproof. So, wipe the SIM card clean and try it on another cell. Save all the data like contact numbers, SMS messages, etc.
· Never shake the mobile to get rid of the water which has entered the cell. This would only increase the possibility of water entering inside further. Cotton cloth is the best to use to wipe and clean the water as it readily absorbs moisture.
· Once the external surface is wiped clean, the wetness in the phone would have come down to a great extent. Keep it in an airier or sunny location safely along with the other removed parts.
· Never use gadgets like hair-dryer to remove the moisture/wetness. Using hair-dryer increases the possibilities of water entering the interiors of the cell.
· Even after all this procedure, there are still prospects of wetness in the cell interior. There is a remedy for this – one of our grandma’s traditional practice – keep some rice in large vessel – keep the cell inside and close tight. In a few hours, the rice in the vessel would have absorbed all the moisture inside the phone.
After taking the cell out from the rice vessel, wipe all the parts clean again. Switch on the cell. If it works, success. Otherwise, take it immediately to the service centre. Explain the event in full detail.
