Government buses in operation with police protection

Due to the ongoing strike of the state transport corporations employees, only a lesser number of buses are being operated. Further, police protection has also been given to the running buses.
The strike of the state transport corporations employees is because of the failure of the discussions (Between the representatives of the union and the state government administration) regarding the 7-point demand. They have declared an indefinite strike.
This strike has put to the regular passengers who depend on buses to extreme hardship. In order to reduce the extent of this hardship, buses are being operated under the monitoring of the state minister Vijayabhasar from the Pallavan Illam depot.
Certain equipment (For any emergency or untoward incidents) such as tear-gas vehicle, ambulance, etc. are kept in the depot.
Further, heavy police protection with the deployment of over 200 police personnel has been arranged in front of the depot.
