In a press release by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Financial Department of the Tamil Nadu state Government, it is informed that the pension order is the main document proof  to verify the age of the pensioner. In case  the pension order is not available or if there are no details regarding the age in the available pension order, the family pensioners of ages  80 and above can use any of the following as age proof as per the government order released on 17th February, 2011: PAN card issued by the Central Income Tax Department, School Leaving Certificate, Passport, Driving Licence, or Voter ID.

In case the senior citizens of 80 years and above find it difficult to have any of the proofs above, the Treasury Department Commissioner has issued a recommendation that the Aadhar card may also be included as one of the proofs to release the pension order.

So, in case the senior citizens of age 80 and above do not have PAN card/School Leaving Certificate/Passport/Driving Licence/Voter ID, they can submit the Aadhar card for age proof.
