The director of the Chennai Meteorological centre informed that there are prospects of the intensity of heat reducing gradually as the Southwest monsoon is set to start in Kerala.
He explained that presently, the high humid air in the direction of the Southwest is intensifying. This is conducive to setting the start of the Southwest monsoon rain season in Kerala on Tuesday (30th May). So, the rain is all set to start in the coastal area of Kerala.
As regarding the Southwest monsoon, Tamil Nadu remains is the area shielded from the rain and so, there are no prospects of good rains.
Presently, the cyclone Mora, located over the Northeast Bay of Bengal, is moving further towards the Northeast. It may cross the coastal Bay of Bengal area on Tuesday. However, the cyclone will not cause any harm in Tamil Nadu.
There are prospects of rain in the interior districts in the next 24 hours. The director informed that with the onset of the Southwest monsoon rain season, it is expected that intensity of heat will reduce gradually.
