Heavy rain disrupt normal life in Chennai

The forecast for Today(18Oct,2012) is cloudy skies with rain or thundershowers
in Chennai subareas.
Regional meteorological center said the city
experienced showers in the 24-hour period ending 8.30am on
Wednesday.
Nungambakkam received 11.6mm of rain, Meenambakkam received
19.6mm at night. During the day, the city received 3.2mm of rain and the suburbs
got 2.3mm.
Some areas received a few spells of rains in the morning . A
short spell of heavy rain before 8.30am slowed down traffic, with office-goers
and students felt difficult to move in the roads.
Students returning home
from school were caught unawares heavy rain occurred in some areas.
