The officials have informed that the facility will be shortly provided in all government e-service centers to edit/correct and print smart family cards.
They informed that there are 10000 government e-service centers throughout Tamil Nadu. 168 kinds of services are provided in these e-service centers.
The task of editing or correcting details in the smart family card can be undertaken in these centers. The fee for this service is Rs. 10. In the case of mistakes in alphabetical letters, the old family card or Aadhar card can be shown as proof. In the case of a change of address, residential proof or rental contract letter can be shown as proofs.
After this introduction of editing/printing of smart family cards, the next phase will introduce the facilities for printing Aadhar cards and coloured Voter ID cards.
This service will be available in the e-service centers in taluk offices in Chennai Metro, Corporation regional offices, Ripon building, Central secretariat (Chennai) and the office of district collectors in the respective districts and taluk offices. The fee would be Rs. 30. This service would be provided in 650 e-service centers in the state.
Presently, the service of editing/printing smart family cards is smoothly in action in the government e-service centers. Only on a single day yesterday (Wednesday, 14th June), 400 persons have applied for corrections in the smart family cards. This will be analysed in the respective E-service centers.
