Earlier, the dates for the commencement of the counselling for admission to the engineering courses had been announced to commence 27th June.
However, with the delay in the release of NEET results and related issues, there was a delay in commencing the counselling for admission to the medical courses.
There is a strong possibility of the rank holders from 5000 to 6730, would have qualified for joining medical courses as well. In case they opt for medical courses, their seats will become vacant. Because of this, the counselling for admission to the engineering courses had to be postponed only after the counselling of admission to the medical courses gets completed.
With NEET results released, it is gathered that the counselling for the admission to medical courses may be conducted from 17th July to 22nd July. The 1st Phase counselling is expected to be completed by 19th July.
Thus, the counselling for admission to the engineering courses may be slated to start a day after this – on 20th July. The counselling will be conducted until 31st July. The classes will commence from 1st August.
If the court agrees to give an exemption because of the delays explained above, the classes may start later – from the 3rd week of August.
So, it is expected that there will be an official announcement on the date of commencement of the counselling session on 30th June (today) for admission to engineering courses.
