The Reserve Bank of India will release and circulate new coins of Rs. 10 denominations to commemorate the occasion of the 125th Anniversary of India’s National Archives of India.
On one side, the new Rs. 10 coins will have the Ashoka Pillar and Lion’s face and Satyameva Jayate printed in Hindi. On the left side, Bharath will be printed in Devanagari and on the right side, India in English.
Below the Lion Face, the denomination of the coin is printed.number 10 and on the other side, the image of the National Archives of India with ‘125’ below will be printed.
The symbol of the 125th Anniversary, the words ‘National Archives of India’ in Devanagari will be printed on top of the image of the building. The words ‘National Archives of India’ will be printed below the image of the building.
On the left and right sides of the building image, the numbers (signifying the years) ‘1891’ and ‘2016’ will be printed respectively.
As per the Indians Coin Act of 2011, these coins are valid. The already existing coins of Rs. 10 will continue to be valid.
