GST has been implemented right at midnight on the date of 1st July. The price of the LPG cooking gas cylinder goes up from this month. As it comes under the 5% GST slab, the 14 kg normal LPG cooking gas cylinder will now cost Rs. 574.50.
Last month, the price of this cylinder was Rs.560. Now, the price is up by additional Rs. 14.50.
The customers will be given a subsidy of Rs. 108.42 from the amount of Rs. 574.50 paid. This subsidy will be credited to the customer savings bank account.
In Chennai Metro City, the agent’s commission is fixed at Rs. 47.63. GST will be Rs. 24.96. The state and the central government will get Rs. 12.48 each. The transportation charge is fixed at Rs. 19.96. Only the 5% GST slab affects the customer from the aspect of higher price.
In a similar trend, the price of commercial cylinders has also gone up. The cylinder now costs Rs. 1103.
