In order to attract more passengers to use Indian Railways, the Ministry of Indian Railways has decided to introduce air-conditioned trains under low-priced fares.
An official explained that the trains will be fully air-conditioned. 3rd Class A/C, 2nd class A/C, and 1st class A/C will be available. In addition, the 3-tier coach will be added. This will have automatic doors. The passengers will enjoy the comfort of uniform temperature set at 24-25 Degrees Celsius. They will not be affected by the climate outside. The facilities to be provided in this 3-tier coach will be finalised before manufacture.
Presently, the trains have the sleeper, 3rd class A/C. 2nd class A/C, and 1st class A/C facilities.
Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Humsafar, and Tejas express trains are fully air-conditioned. Especially the 3rd class A/C facility provided in the Humsafar express trains has met with huge popularity from the public.
Indian Railways have decided to run more fully air-conditioned trains in order to attract more passengers.
A special committee has been formed to improve the facilities offered both in the railway stations and in the trains.
