CMRL app is a huge hit - 10,000 downloads in 30 days

An exclusive mobile app for Chennai metro rail was launched last month. With over 10,000 downloads in just 30 days, the app has proven to be a great success. To start with, the app was launched only for Android users, but it is now made available for iOS platform as well.
Consumers find this app contented with all essential details. We are able to find location of each station with ease along with the nearest landmarks, link bridge availability, parking facilities, and feeder services, says a passenger. The app users are mostly non-Tamil speakers and students, mainly.
Most staff members do not know English. So, it was tough to find the correct platform or know fares or to identify which bus will take us to the destined station. Now, we need not ask anyone.
With the CMRL app, we can know the total distance covered, the total cost of journey, station names, and train timings. Beyond the station, one can easily get the information about closest metro station, way to reach and total travel time. Tourist spots, weather forecast, etc are the other attractions of the app.
The major drawback however is the improper train timings. It takes at least 10 minutes for the train to arrive after the app alerts. This is supposedly the most prominent feature of the app, says a passenger.
