In a push to reduce traffic congestion on the Grand Southern Trunk Road, the traffic police have come up with a new plan to be implemented near Mount head post office.
Abiding by the orders made by Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan, a meeting was held with the Omni Bus Owners Association on Wednesday in Chennai. In the meet, discussions took place about decongesting traffic in and around Asarkhana, Mount Head Post Office because of omni buses parked in the locale. For the same, a study to find out different ways of decongesting was conducted.
The association members are told to park vehicles opposite to officers training academy, on the inner ring road for picking up passengers. They can go via MKN road and enter GST road.
To these suggestions, the omni bus operators agreed and said necessary arrangements shall be done by the police with complete cooperation.
