Good Chennai rains have remained at a far distance and the capital city of Tamil Nadu has only been able to receive few spells of light to very light showers. The month of July remained almost dry with very few light spells of rain in the last several days.

According to Skymet Weather, presently no significant weather system prevails over the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, Chennai is likely to reel under dry and humid weather conditions for the next few days. Meanwhile, a formation of a trough will be seen along the East Coast. With this, isolated thundershowers are expected to occur over Chennai giving that much-needed relief from the ongoing weather conditions July 27-28 onward. However, these rains will not be intense and good showers will remain far away.

Since the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Chennai has not recorded any rainfall activity. Whereas, other parts of the country have been witnessing good Monsoon showers.

At present, Chennai is rain surplus by 3 percent. As Chennai is situated near coastal areas humid weather conditions prevail over the city throughout the entire year.

During month end, the intensity of rains will not be much but patchy and highly localized rains are possible over the city. Until then, dry and humid weather conditions may prevail. Thereafter, pleasant weather conditions may take over the city once those rains and thundershowers hit Chennai.
