The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the prevailing high intensity of heat will continue for 2 more days.
An official from the centre explained that the main reason for the higher intensity of the heat is the coastal breeze not reaching the shores and the immediate interiors. This will prevail for 2 more days when the heat will continue. However, there are prospects of coastal breeze reaching the shores after 28th July and here are good prospects of rain.
The coastal breeze from the seas sets in rather late since the last 3 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Further, there are not many gatherings of clouds in the interior Tamil Nadu. So, the heat has been scorching over the last 3 days in several cities.
