In recent times, the prices of essential vegetables such as tomato and onion increased steeply in the open market.

Hence, activities were initiated to sell vegetables at reasonable low prices in the green farm-fresh consumer shops run by the Cooperative department. Here, the tomato is sold at Rs. 40 per kg and the onion is sold at Rs. 20 per kg.

The public has been made aware of the good quality of the vegetables sold here. The small onions will be dark pink in colour and of medium size and with thick skin weighing around 10-15 grams per piece. The tomatoes (grown in rural areas) and the potato will be of good quality and this has been publicized.

Further, the public has been requested to participate and offer suggestions or complaints regarding the vegetables sold in these shops.
