Transfer certificates to be printed in Tamil

From this current academic year, a new procedure has been introduced with regard to transfer certificates for the students given by schools.

Following the system of providing the details of the students` names in Tamil on the Public Examination Mark Sheet, this feature to introduce names in Tamil will be followed on the issue of school transfer certificates.

In an official letter written by the Director of the Government Examinations Board, T, Vasundhara Devi to the Director of School Education, R. Ilangovan, it is mentioned that, presently, the new system of furnishing the names of the students with their initials in Tamil also in the mark sheet certificates for the students who have written public examinations in 10th Standard and +2.

With the primary objective of ensuring no mistakes in the spelling of the names of the students, letters will be sent to all the school principals/headmasters to insert the names of the students in Tamil with initials henceforth.

As a pass in the 8th Standard is the minimum qualification required for writing the SSLC examinations, action has to be initiated that henceforth, while issuing transfer certificates to all the students who have passed 8th Standard after studying in schools, and the students who had dropped out of school during their 9th and 10th standards, it must be ensured that the names of the students in Tamil with initials must be given in the transfer certificates.
