The Reserve Bank of India has decided to print a new series of lower denomination currency notes of Rs, 200 especially in order to prevent the illegal usage of the higher denomination currencies.
RBI has informed that the new currency notes of Rs. 200 may come into circulation by end August or the start of September.
Further, there are no currencies in the denomination between Rs. 100 and Rs. 500. This leads to a severe shortage of change.
Hence, RBI decided to print new currency notes of Rs. 200, The RBI officials expect a huge popular response for this.
RBI has also informed that actions have been initiated to prevent counterfeit currency notes of Rs. 200 and also to prevent the hoarding of the genuine notes of Rs. 200.
The Reserve Bank of India has informed that the new currency notes of Rs. 200 denominations are being released in order to simplify the financial transactions as well as increasing the circulation of lower denomination currency notes.
