Alliance Air, a branch of the Air India, has commenced flight services from Chennai to other major cities in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Small aircraft, ATR 72-600 with all the latest Hi-tech facilities will be operated on these flights. 70 passengers can travel in this aircraft.
The officials of Alliance Air informed that the services have been started as an effort to link all the smaller cities with larger cities.
As the 1st service, the 1st flight of ATR 72-600 Aircraft took off (yesterday, Wednesday, 30th August) from Chennai at 2.30 PM for Madurai.
The officials also informed that there will be flights from Chennai to Coimbatore and Trichy. In the next phase, flights will be operated to Salem and Tuticorin and Puducherry.
