Local holiday for Onam in Chennai

On account of Onam festival, Chennai district collector V. Anbuselvan has announced a local holiday on September 4.
A release from Collector V. Anbuselvan said that all government offices and educational institutions will not function on September 4. However, district treasury and sub-treasury offices would function on September 4 for the convenience of the public, said the collector.
The holiday would be compensated by government offices and educational institutions on September 23.
