ICF to roll out first Anubhuti coach

The Integral Coach Factory is all set to roll out the very first Anubhuti coach. This coach will have personalized infotainment system and other facilities including attendance-on-call and LCD screens. These facilities are on the lines of those in board flights.
 
The very first such coach shall be sent to the western railway and it will be joined with Shatabdi or Rajdhani train, said a senior official from ICF.
 
Ten such coaches will be launched in the present financial year. This effort by the Railways aims at expanding its attractive travel options on par with that of airlines. The manufacturing cost of each of these will be Rs 3.4 crore, said an official.
 
The manufacturing process involves Linke Hoffman Busche coach with German Technology. And there are a number of add-ons to it too. According to official sources, these LCD screens are fixed to each and every seat at the back. There will be a central table with LCD screens for view for the middle seat passengers. This will pop up when a button is pushed. This monitor shall have varied options such as movies, music, information, feedback, etc. There will also be a passenger information system that functions based on GPS. It will keep the passengers informed of upcoming destinations and train speed. All the passengers shall be given a headphone as well.
