Central government to issue new coins bearing image of MGR

As a mark of observation of the MGR Centenary year (2017), the central ministry of finance has announced that coins with the image of MGR for the denominations of Rs. 5 and Rs. 100 will be released and circulated.
The image of MGR will be on the obverse side of the coins.
