In order to prevent the unnecessary confrontation between the passengers in the reserved compartment during train travel, the Railway department has taken a decision that the passengers should be allowed to sleep only between 10.00 PM and 6.00 AM in he reserved berths and issued an order accordingly.
The order explains that earlier, there was a rule that passengers who booked their berths can sleep between 9.00 PM and 6.00 AM for a total of 9 hours sleep. This has been now reduced to 8 hours as the passengers with booked berths can now sleep only between 10.00 PM and 6.00 AM.
This restriction is applicable to the passenger who booked the centre and lower berths. If the passengers sleep for more time, it will create a disturbance for the passengers who are awake and also the new passengers entering the compartment. So, the sleeping time is reduced by an hour.
This new order will be applicable to all trains with berth reservation facility. However, if patients, differently-abled, pregnant women, and children sleep for extra hours, it may be permitted.
