Additional features introduced in Google Translation App

Among the large variety of services offered by Google, the facility of translation to different languages is one popular  App.  Several Indian languages have been added in this facility. Further, a new feature, ‘off-line’ translation facility has been introduced.

This off-line translation facility is being introduced today (Thursday, 21st December) in this App for the languages Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarathi, Urdu, and Bengali.

There is a feature where the translation will appear on the screen. So, the new off-line facility which was already available for Hindi is now introduced in 7 other Indian languages.

In case you are interested in using this improve translation App, you need to download the package pertaining to the language you intend to use and you must have the Wi-Fi facility.

After downloading and if you have the phone with Wi-Fi facility, the App will be ready for use whenever required. English will be already available. You can either translate the chosen language news-bit to English or you can translate the given news-bit in English to your chosen language.

Another notable feature added is the ‘Instant visual’ facility. This facility is now available in all the 7 Indian languages mentioned above. In case you capture an English word or words in your camera, they will be instantly translated in the chosen language and shown on the screen. Another remarkable feature is that, without the need for typing, you may capture lengthy sentences/paragraphs in your camera, you can get them translated in the chosen language.

In case you want this feature, you have to open the App and then switch on the camera to capture the chosen English passage. In case you happen to be the 1st-time user, you would be advised to download the package ‘Word Lens’ and you may do the same.

Further, a special feature has been added in this improved Google Translation App for Tamil and Bengali languages. With this feature, if you talk in Tamil, it will be translated to Bengali instantly and vice versa. It is worth noting that this feature already exists in Hindi.
