Tesla and AMD to together develop AMD for self-driving cars

Tesla Inc., the electric carmaker, in association with Advanced Micro Devices Inc. is developing artificial intelligence chip to be used in self-driving cars, say reports.
 
Spin off AMD – Global Foundries Inc. Chief Executive Sanjay Jha said their company is working close with Tesla, say reports. Global foundries that fabricates chips has got into an agreement for Wafer supply with AMD.
 
Tesla will not be the solo player in the process of chip development, say sources. It will construct over the AMD intellectual property.
 
Under Jim Keller, over 50 such people are functional. Jim Keller is a longtime chip architect and head of Autopilot hardware and software of Tesla, say report. In terms of extending trading, AMD has 2.2 percent share.
 
When contacted for comments, Tesla, AMD and Global foundries did not come forward for any response.
