The procession of the Umbrellas to Tirupathi starts today (Thursday, 21st September). For this purpose, to be dedicated to the Lord Venkateswara of Tirupathi temple, these umbrellas are taken from Chennai to Tirupathi in a procession for the above purpose.

The procession starts after the special poojas are performed in the Kesava Perumal Temple in the Flower Bazaar, Chennai and proceed to Tirupathi. They will reach Tirupathi on the 26th night and then the umbrellas will be dedicated to the Lord. Elaborate arrangements have been made to facilitate the thousands of devotees who will see this procession and offer prayers.
