The Minister for Higher Education Department, K. P. Anbalagan informed that henceforth, it would not be necessary to visit the police station in case academic certificates are lost.

Until now, in the event of losing academic qualification documents/certificates, the procedure was to register a complaint in the police station or advertise in the newspapers. This may take a lot of time – may be up to 6 months. This also entailed a high expenditure.

The state government has now initiated the action to avoid the above.

The state minister for higher education, K. P. Anbalagan informed that in order to retrieve or get fresh certificates in the event of losing the original academic certificates or documents, there will not be any more need to register complaints in the police stations – the individual can visit the concerned educational institute with copies of Aadhar card and Driver’s Licence, submit the same with application. They will get fresh copies of the lost certificates within 2 days. This system has been introduced since 26th September.
