Chennai to get rain by North east Monsoon

Chennai yet to receive the north west monsoon on Monday the officials said it is the correct time to recollect the water reservoirs particularly for Chennaities whereas the rainfall was absent on November due in for more that Coastal Tamil Nadu may get heavy rains, as the low pressure formation is in the south east part of Bay of Bengal.and the officials added that This may be the last chance of the city to get some rains this season. Though the exact position and direction of the formation is yet to be known the rain fall approximately would be formed at 40% as of none other than november storage. latest storage of Poondi reservoir, the largest lake, has of 796mcft of water against the 2484mcft storage on the same day last year.

Although our reservoirs that supply water to the city have a combined storage strength of 11,057mcft.but officials added that the storage registered on Saturday was only 4,236mcft, against the level of 8,999mcft last year water resources department, among three other reservoirs - Red Hills, Chembarambakkam and Cholavaram, Cholavaram has a storage of 329mcft against 836mcft last year, Red Hills has 1970mcft against 3006mcft, and Chembarabakkam has 1,141mcft against the 2673mcft.

The southern districts like Kumbakonam,Thanjavur,Madurai etc… of the state are more likely to benefit from the expected rainfall in the coming days.though Karnataka government refused us mother nature would show mercy in the way of her tears.
