A special programme on literature Ilakkiya Inbam was organised at Chennai DG Vaishnav College yesterday (Tuesday, 10th October).
The principal, T. Santhanam, while addressing the gathering, observed more such programmes should be regularly conducted in order to improve the standards and literary taste of the students.
The head of the Department of Economics. Balasubramanian informed in his speech that the epics Kamba Ramayana and Mahabharata are the roots of Indian/Tamilian tradition and culture. Apart from learning through reading books, the students should also develop the habit attending lectures and literary presentations to expand their knowledge.
The College Secretary Ashok Kumar Mundhra inaugurated the programme. The Head of the Department of Tamil, P. Murugan, and others participated.
