Tamil Nadu state Cabinet has given its approval for implementing 7th Pay Commission recommendations. In the cabinet meeting headed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palanisami, the decision was taken yesterday.
After taking this initiative, there will be 20 percent increase in salaries of all state government employees and government teachers. With this, over 10 lakh government employees and pensioners will be benefited. According to reports, this decision for implementing 7th Pay Commission recommendations is taken following reports from high level committee under Finance Secretary K Shanmugan.
Tamil Nadu government employees have expressed concerns about demands of interim relief until implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations. Because of violating rules, the Madras High Court had to impose an order to stay the protests.
