Since last many days, southern districts of Tamil Nadu have been witnessing light to moderate rains. Whereas, throughout the month of October, good rains kept occurring over the state as well as the capital city. In fact, there have been just a few days when Chennai has not recorded any good spells.

These rains can be attributed to an upper air trough which is further likely to form over west central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, warm and humid weather conditions along with cloudy sky is likely to persist over the city of Chennai and adjoining areas during the next two to three days.

Besides this, southern districts of Tamil Nadu will continue to settle with light to moderate rains during the similar time frame. However, due to the availability of moisture, scattered light rain and thundershowers in a few pockets of the city cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, October 26 onwards, a fresh spell of rains is anticipated over the state as well as Chennai. During this period, the weather of Chennai and adjoining areas is likely to become comfortable.

Until then, day temperatures are expected to remain about 35 degrees Celsius mark while night temperatures may decrease and are likely to range from 26 to 27 degrees Celsius.
