Aiming to facilitate the students of Tamil Nadu government schools to face competitive exams such as NEET with confidence, the State school education department has joined hands with two institutions including Speed Institute, and have signed Memorandum of Understanding with both. The MoU signed is for 3 years period.
100 centers to start with
With this, the students will be given free coaching for competitive exams like NEET. To start with, in the first phase, 100 coaching centers will be launched and in January 2018, 412 more centers will be launched across the state.
Coaching through video conferencing
These coaching sessions will be conducted through video conferencing. And they will have enough time to communicate with the teachers during the classes, said Mr. Sengottaiyan. After launching manual for IIT-JEE, Mr. Sengottaiyan said students will be free to take part in coaching centers at different locations.
The government shall work out a schedule with duration of sessions and total number of days. So far, 13,240 enrolments are received. Agreeing to students’ plea to extend admission deadline, applications shall be received until end of this month.
Thus, over 20,000 students in addition can get enrolled, the minister added. There are more centers likely to be launched to meet the near future demand.
Many more classrooms shall be launched to accommodate aspirants, and the minister added that there is no idea of admitting students from private schools as of now.
