A news is gathered that one of the long-awaited features expected in the WhatsApp is likely to be introduced for the customers on Android, IOS and Windows platforms.
In an information released by WaBetaInfo, which reports info regarding WhatsApp, it is informed that the above feature is being introduced to the Android, IOS, and Windows users.

With this, facility, the above user can now ease the wrongly sent messages. As the activities are underway to provide this facility for all users, in order to allow this feature to function properly, the WhatsApp facility in both the senders’ and receivers’ smartphones should be updated.

It is mentioned that the new facility will apply to GIF, letters, photos, voice message, contact card, quoted message, and status reply.

How does it work?

When erasing the message sent, a backup copy of the message will be sent to the receiver on behalf of WhatsApp. Once the backup copy is received, the notification and chat history will not be saved about this erased message.

However, WhatsApp will confirm that this message exists in ID database. And then, the message will be erased.

This new WhatsApp facility will not work under the following situations:
·        The messages in quoted message section cannot be retrieved.

·        The messages in the broadcast list also cannot be retrieved.

·        This facility has to be used in the 1st 7 minutes after sending the message.Once these 70 minutes are over, the messages cannot be erased/retrieved.

·        This facility will work only in the updated WhatsApp. So, both the sender and the receiver must have the updated WhatsApp version.

·        It is also informed that this feature will not function in cell phones which function on Symbian platform.
