As of 23rd October, over 150 housing projects in Tamil Nadu are registered under the TNRERA (Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority).
Following notification by the Tamil Nadu government with the Tamil Nadu Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Rules, 2017 on June 22, this TNRERA has got functional.
As per the details put up on TNRERA portal, in within a period of one month that is between 26th September and 23rd October, over 64 projects are registered with the real estate authority in the state. A lot of these projects belong to the Chennai’s suburban regions – Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts and a few are in Coimbatore.
Mandatory registration with TNRERA
Any new housing project that has at least 8 units needs to be registered under this real estate regulatory authority.
The housing plots also fall under the realty regulator following approval by the respective planning authorities.
