As per the latest announcement released by the Reserve Bank of India, it is observed that the senior citizens encounter a lot of hardship to avail the banking service. It is also learned that the several bank branches neglect and ignore the visiting senior citizens.

In order to encourage digital financial transactions and also encourage the usage of ATMs, it is really essential that the needs of the senior citizens and the differently-abled persons are attended on priority.

With due consideration for the above aspect, all the banks must introduce the banking services through house visits for the customers who are senior citizens and those who are visually-impaired.

The banks should facilitate services such as deposit/withdrawal of cash, issue of cheque-books, issue of Demand Draft, collecting the documents for the KYC (Know Your Customer) system, etc., at the homes of the senior citizens and differently-abled.

Further, the essential documents pertaining to pension, etc., should be collected from their homes.

The banks must also start a separate section for the senior citizens in each branch and provide banking services.

The above procedures must be implemented from 31st December.
