On Tuesday, Nokia, the handset maker said it shall start with manufacturing 5G-ready AirScale multi-brand base station in its plant. This will be set up before end of this year in order to cater to the increasing demand of mobile broadband.
In a company release, it is said that Nokia will start with the manufacture of 5G-ready AirScale multi-brand base station in Oragadam where it has topnotch facilities. This initiative is to be made in order to meet the increasing demand for the mobile broadband in both domestic and global markets. The statement further says the move shall support the central government’s Make in India initiative.
AirScale will be the very first triple-band radio. It shall extend immense capacity and connectivity for supporting the future of traffic growth, and also help in reducing the space needs and pricing pertaining to the same.
Before this year ends, production in Nokia AirScale multiband base station is likely to kick-start at Oragadam, Chennai. With this, it shall back the Indian government’s vision to encourage local manufacturing, the statement adds.
Monika Maurer, the Chief Operating Officer of Nokia said in the past 9 years, Nokia’s topnotch manufacturing facilities have helped it in introducing contemporary technologies at faster rate.
This new base station from Nokia shall support different kinds of network features. With this, they can encourage service providers in boosting their performances in 4G networks, and equip them in the evolution of 5G network, says Nokia sources.
