Extended time for sticking new price labels on products

Following the recent revision of GST on over 200 items, a time extension has been given until end December for the traders to stick the revised price labels on the various products.

GST was implemented throughout the country from 1st July. It was ordered then the price sticker should include the revised MRP (Maximum Retail Price). The deadline for this activity has now been extended until end December from the originally proposed end September.

In this situation, the GST council came up with the announcement of the reduction in GST slabs for 210 products. This revision included more than 170 daily domestic use products when the GST slab was reduced from 28% to 18%. A 5% tax has been proposed for the air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned hotels.

The revised GST has been effective from 15th November. In this situation, the central minister for consumer affairs, Ram Vilas Paswan explained that an order has been issued to stick new labels on various products as per the latest revised GST slabs. The new sticker has to be placed adjacent to the old one. The deadline is until end December. This order is applicable for products and other imported items which were made after 1st July which remained unsold. The new stickers with revised prices will have to be stuck on them as well.
